MAIDEN VOYAGE
Date: 10-16-2005,
Time: 10:00. am arrival, 6:00 pm departure.
Location: Lake Houston, Deussen Park
Crew: Captn Tiff, Moose (Brett), Cadillac (Paul), Shark Bait (Tyler), Lorraine and Ken.
Activities: Exploring the lake, fishing, tubing, knee boarding, swimming, relaxing.
Weather: Could not have asked for better conditions for our Madien Voyage. Clear blue skies, sunny and 85 degrees, the water was calm and cool, and we nearly had the lake to ourselves. Captn Tiff got used to driving the boat, practiced going from a stop to full throttle for skiing, parked at the pier like a pro, and trailered the boat with ease. The old Mercury Grand Marquis didn't even get her tires wet and tows the boat like a trooper. Brett was the most patient and heplful first mate there ever was. The engines starts easily and runs great, we got her trimmed to go about 39 mph.

Life is good.

Cap'n Tiff above on her new pride n joy.

Brett takes the helm for a while:

Below are the picks I saw on the internet that made me decide to make her mine....I could tell she would clean up good :)

The seats were in very good condition, that was a big plus.

The trailer has a bit of rust but has many years left in it....

Needed new tires asap though...

In the picture below you can see the plywood used to cover a soft spot
and a broken seat also due to wood rot.
We fixed the seat - and we coated a 1/2" sheet of GOOD plywood with weatherproofing,
then covered with matching outdoor carpet, for a soft spot fix to last a couple or three years,
We even beveled the edges of the plywood so you don't stub your toe and it works great!

In the picture below you can see one of the trick boards that came with it, behind the seat.

Above the only seat with any tears is the driver seat...easily replaced...

A 100 HP mercury motor? (not sure)

I went to look at her the night I found her on Craigs List and bought her with out a second thought,

best buy I ever made in my life!

Here's the boat in my driveway :) We named her "Reel Nauti" - she's all shiny clean now.

Here's more of the gear that came with the boat: this is before we put in the great temporary floor covering.
All she needs now are some pole holders, a trolling motor and a depth finder!
