Savanna was literally saved from death! She lived in a pasture full of
oak trees. I was told about her from a friend who never saw anyone go
out to feed her. When I went out to see her she could barley stand. She
was skin and bones. She had eaten every oak leaf, acorn, blade of grass
and the bark as high as she could reach. The sad thing was is there was
2 full bales of alfalfa on the other side of the fence. It had been weeks
since she had hay. The only reason she was still alive was that she had
an automatic waterer. I went to the house and offered the people $100.00
and told them she was starving to death. They told me no that she was
not for sale. I could not sleep that whole night. The next day I went
to the house again but this time I had my horse trailer. I told them I
was either going to buy her or I was going to call the Humane Society
on them. They sold Savanna to me for $150.00. When I went to get her they
had given her a 50lb bag of cob with molasses and 1/2 bale of alfalfa
hay. With hours of walking amazingly enough she did not colic. We trained
her to ride and drive. She is a wonderful pony with a sweet disposition.
She knows we saved her. Savanna will stay at Angelwings until she dies.
She is available for both sponsorships. She would be great for any age
or size child for riding and driving. Savanna is 6 years old.
